One of the founding member of the San Francisco based Irish band The Gas Men, Cormac Gannon was born in County Mayo in the West of Ireland and moved to San Francisco in 1991. Cormac starting out playing bodhrán and singing and later took up playing guitar and uilleann pipes. In 2017 Cormac recorded his solo album, Different, a mix of traditional Irish and other songs, he has also played bodhrán on albums by recording artists, Kyle Alden, Catherine John, Eamonn Flynn, Lucia Comnes and Vincey Keehan. Cormac also organizes the annual Fairfax Irish Festival of Music and Dance, since 2011.
